LOWVILLE, New York (WWNY) – A center is opening in Lewis County to help businesses and residents who were hit by severe storms and flooding this summer.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is opening a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) in Lowville this Friday.

It will help businesses and residents hit by the storms that happened on August 18 and 19.
The center will be in the Lewis County Outdoor Services Conference Room that’s on East Road through January 17.
It will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Walk-ins are accepted, but you can schedule an in-person appointment at a DLOC in advance at appointment.sba.gov.
These loans can help repair or replace damaged property incurred as a result of the event for:
- Businesses or private, non-profit organizations up to $2 million for the replacement of property
- Businesses or private, non-profit organizations up to $2 million to provide necessary working capital until normal operations resume after the disaster
- Homeowners or renters up to $100,000 (to help repair or replace personal property)
- Homeowners up to $500,000 (to repair or restore their primary home to pre-disaster condition)

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is February 18, 2025. The deadline to return economic injury applications is September 22, 2025.
