gang life back in Jamaica, and that once he learned about Christ he gave his life to him and he chose to follow the ministry path and become a pastor, so he ended up moving here to the states.… He came to our church to give his testimony of how much his life had changed.
Afterwards, as Melody gave him a ride to the airport, he told her that
his wife, his daughter, and he had been living in their car for the past few weeks or months or two months, I think he mentioned. And so because he didn’t have money and because he had had an open heart surgery the previous month or two months before, that’s why he had no money to pay for [a college loan repayment], so now he was in the position where if he didn’t pay for the loan he would be deported and his ministry will end.

Melody “loaned” him several thousand dollars, and later she learned that other people had, as well. She has tracked down about $20,000 dollars that he was given by church members in Massachusetts. He has spoken in churches elsewhere, as well. He hasn’t, to Melody’s knowledge, paid back the “loans” he’s received.
Billy Mirander has written a book about his gang life and conversion, and claims he’s appeared on 3ABN—both of which he uses as an entry to get into pulpits.
