On Friday the team announced that they signed free agent goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega to a one-year contract. The team didn’t strictly lose goalkeeper Duran Ferree, but will loan him out – he will join FC Nordsjælland, part of Superliga in Denmark, until June 2025.

Sisniega spent last season with San Antonio FC of the USL Championship, where he made 22 starts. The 29-year-old Mexico City native also spent three seasons with LAFC, where he played a part in its first MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2019.
Sisniega is on a one-year contract that includes club options for the 2026 and 2027 MLS seasons.
Ferree, a San Diego native, was the first player signed in SDFC history in December 2023.
SDFC Sporting Director Tyler Heaps said in a statement that he believed the loan was best for Ferree’s continued training and development.

“This extension allows him to continue developing in a European setting, gaining valuable experience both on and off the field that will further his growth as a player and prepare him to contribute at the highest level for San Diego FC in the future,” Heaps said.
Earlier this month, SDFC announced its full 2025 regular season schedule. The club plays its first game on Feb. 23 in Los Angeles against the LA Galaxy.
